Ryan Lochte beats 200m backstroke world record

American Ryan Lochte stunned everyone when he won the 200m backstroke in Melbourne, Australia and broke the world record. He defeated champion Aaron Peirsol which was the best swimmer in 200m since Sydney Olympics 2000.that hold the 1 minute and 54.44 seconds. Shocked and not believing that he really beat the record with 1 minute, 54.32 seconds he is now the owner of a gold medal.

Second came Peirsol with 1:54.44 and Austrian Markus Rogan for the bronze. It’s Lochte’s first gold medal. Good job buddy!
